Due to organisational growth and infrastructure upgrades we are seeking a skilled and qualified Water and Sewerage Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity to live and work in the beautiful region on Wakka Wakka Country where you can immerse yourself in a rich culture.

The region is renowned for its great wine, gourmet foods and recreational facilities such as BP Dam, Bunya Mountains, Lake Boondooma, and many regional tourist parks.

Full or Part Time Contract Available.

Position Description:

  • Maintain water and sewerage compliance
  • Perform maintenance on sewerage treatment plant and water plant
  • Perform water testing and plant adjustments
  • Perform other duties as per managers direction
  • Attend public health unit fortnightly visits


Position Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in Water and/or Wastewater Operations or ability to obtain (e.g. Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment)
  • A current Queensland C Class driver's licence
  • A current Construction Industry Safety Induction (White Card)
  • Confined Space Certificate (highly desirable)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to established guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrated ability to complete all necessary paperwork associated with the position
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the interests of Council proactively and professionally
  • Knowledge and awareness of environmental issues associated with water and sewerage operations
  • Knowledge and awareness of Workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations, including a sound knowledge of safe work practices
  • Knowledge and awareness of Council's policies and procedures
